Castelmac Srl produces and distributes professional ice making machines under the commercial brand name of Icematic, an extremely popular machinery in the Horeca sector.

A display with buttons has been for several product generations the sole control interface available.

Embedded screens are a very good solution for standard operativity but presents several limitations when it comes the need to add new advanced functionalties or evolve the product usability.

A mobile application, designed to replace the conventional display, serving both end-user and customer service needs.

Things5 supported Castelmac Srl in the entire project development process through the analysis of the technical requirements of the various on-board electronics suppliers, the technical design, the user experience design, the graphic interface, the development of the application up to to its publication on the Apple and Google stores. 

Things5 was used as cloud infrastructure, to collect machine's data, manage appliances operativity, to simplify testing and logging of activities from operators.

The multilingual app created by Visup allows a simpler and extended management of Icematic machines thanks to a custom designed user experience. At the same time, the app provides a suite of tools designed to simplify the operations of the customer service by enabling machine diagnostics and troubleshooting both on site, via Bluetooth, and remotely, via internet connectivity.
